There are so many books on the subject of mind, body and spirit. Each has been read with the hope of attaining the state of mind or consciousness described by their authors, but somehow that state of mind eludes readers who keep finding themselves with the same old viewpoints, even if after brief highs and insights.

 

Each author has tried to pass on his or her experience to the reader, but only the reader can do the experiencing for himself. This is from where the old adages “he who knows, does not say” and “the way which can be spoken is not the way” were derived, and which are not unlike the master's reply, “If you are hungry, what relief is it to you if I eat?  If your bladder is full, what relief to you if I piss?” when being asked by a monk to be shown the way. Verbal and written “teachings” will not free you but will only add to more mental bric-a-brac, ideas and concepts, whereas the point of the teaching is to impart an experiential awakening and a renewed point of view in the reader. Just as with explaining the smell of a rose, only by drawing air across the olfactory epithelium will the scent of the rose be revealed to you.

Awakening can’t be explained into someone. It has to be experienced.  Therefore, I’m just going to provide you with a series of exercises (and say as little as possible –well maybe - except for what is necessary to understand them). My aim is to bring about a rehabilitation of your ability to observe and embrace considerations, fixed ideas, and beliefs along with their attendant realities  and to permit their existence or non-existence with the purpose of bringing about a change in your viewpoint and thereby a betterment of your circumstances and reality.

 

Upset (emotional / physical charge) is directly related to the degree of resistance to experience that which is upsetting or creating the charge and the  (either conscious or unconscious) want of a diametric desire. This robs us of attention for experiencing now. Not until you can fully “accept” can you fully let-go.  You may say, “Well, it’s survival instinct to avoid pain and seek pleasure”. But survival is an illusion.  As you are spirit you can do nothing other than exist. 

 

If, in this life, we create by intentionality and emoting, then removing our resistances (upsets and frustrations) will allow us to feel more at peace. This would allow us to emote more positively (facilitating more positive attraction), and to put less drag on our purposeful desired intentions, thus enabling those intentions to come to fruition more easily, returning to us our attention for a more rich experience of now.
